The Crichton University Campus Boat Club
Established in 2012, the Crichton University Campus Boat Club is the rowing club of students at the Crichton Campus (including the University of Glasgow, the University of the West of Scotland, the Dumfries & Galloway College, and other institutions) in Dumfries.
The student team trains both indoor and outdoor with members of Nithsdale ARC and welcomes beginners and more advanced rowers to come and try rowing in a friendly atmosphere.
Since 2012, CUCBC has won medals from various regattas including Scottish Championships and Strathclyde Park Regatta. The club has now over 17 active members coming from different academic years and institutions based at the Crichton Campus. We share facilities (boats, oars, boathouse) with NARC and own a few gym and rowing equipments (weights, sweep and sculling blades, coxed quad/four from the year 2016).
The team is composed of students and young professionals and offers the opportunity to students and locals to engage in a physical activity, socialise with young people from various places, and represent the club at national level.
